Devotional

"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."

— Matthew 7:13–14

We all end up in our own "town called Nowhere" at some point — a place we built with our own plans, our own pride, our own version of control. But the gospel tells us something that pride never will: the way out isn't through trying harder. It's through surrender. Grace doesn't wait for you to find your way back. It meets you right where you are — broken, worn, and out of options — and says, "Son, it's time to leave this place."

Lyrics

Verse 1

I walked alone, head down, heart blind
Chasing a peace I could never find
Built my plans with trembling hands
But they all gave way to life's demands

Pre-Chorus

Prayed to the sky but heard no sound
Just the ache of silence coming down

Chorus

Now I'm here in a town called Nowhere
Every road led me back to despair
I strayed from the path, the narrow gate
Chose my will and called it fate
He calls with mercy, He calls with grace:
"Son, it is time to leave this place."

Verse 2

I took one step, then one more slow
Didn't know the way, but had to go
Left my pride by the welcome sign
Prayed for His strength — I'm outta mine

Pre-Chorus

Now every breath feels a little more free
Like He never stopped walking with me

Chorus

Now I'm here in a town called Nowhere
Every road led me back to despair
I strayed from the path, the narrow gate
Chose my will and called it fate
He calls with mercy, He calls with grace:
"Son, it is time to leave this place."

Bridge

He found me broken, worn and slow
But mercy don't care how far you go
I gave Him my ruin, He gave me rest
Turns out He still knew what was best

Final Chorus

I was lost in a town called Nowhere
Every road led me back to despair
But He lit the path, the narrow gate
Tore down my pride and rebuilt my faith
He called with mercy, He called with grace:
"Son, come and leave that broken place."
